Default RE: Timing Chain Replacement

Well I just got done finishing up a cam chain replacement and to be honest if you like working on it.. it is a good winter job.. I really did it cause it is my first bike and i wanted to rebuild thewhole thing.. (polish motor, paint frame, 05 Plastics.. the works) It took me and a buddy.. (both have never taken a motor out let alone split a motor in half.. and your right.. that is exactly what will need to be done).. my addvice is drop the motor, find a clean shop and give it a long saturday just getting the motor apart and back together.. for me it was worth it but i love the work.. hope things work out on your end

Alright, that's what I wanted to hear! Sounds like you had a good time doing it! I'm gonna do it as soon as I get back to the states. I'm in Spain now and won't be back until May, but I'll post the results then.

Thankyou to everyone for your input, it's been really helpful!
