Default There was a fire

Sooo I finally got to ride my bike for about a thousand feet. I drove it up a hill and then came back.
It doesn't like to idle so it died. Upon an attempt to restart flames broke out from behind the radiator. I got it put out and nothing happened to the paint/wires/etc..

When I bought it the spark plug wires were going to the wrong plugs, and the distance from the carbs to valves would fill up completely with gas(not sure why it let so much gas through the carbs as that doesn't seem normal).
What im thinking happened is that the overwhelming amount of gas in the cyclinders leaked past the rings into the oil. Once in the oil it created a flammable mixture and the crank case vent ontop of the head was blowing that out and then something sparked it.

I don't want to be riding it and just blow up all the sudden So im thinking, drain the oil, change the filter and let it air out a little bit. Is there anything else I should be checking? Thanks!

I'd check to make sure the floats on your carbs are working properly that could be why your getting that much gas dumping threw your carbs, at least that is what it sounds like to me

Pull the carbs and clean the low speed jets and make sure the floats are properly adjusted.

I cleaned the carbs a 2nd time and it doesn't seem to dump fuel like it did before, so the problem with it flooding the engine was solved as far as I can tell.
When I pushed the right 2 carb throttle slides up and then released them quite abit of gas would flow out from around the jet needles, while the left 2 carbs would pump almost nothing out. Now after the 2nd carb cleaning, they all let a very small amount out if any at all.

Check for external fuel leaks too around the lines & carbs.. I had a couple leaking float bowl drains due to corrosion on the tips of the screws after buying my bike.
