Default If I set it on fire will it fix it?

o.k. here goes I build bikes on the side all the time and this is the first one that drives me up the wall cause I always wanted one. This thing is worse than my wife.I sealed the tank cleaned and inspected the carb 8 times (read 8 Times) put in new float bowl needles ($71.46) and this thing still loads up on one cylinder. What happens is when I leave runs like a scalded ape ride around for a minute before I get home it starts burbling get home let it run for a minute then it starts skipping bad a dies.Pull the carbs back off no trash every thing clear put it back together runs good for a while then back to running like yamaha.not much lol there.I there something i'm overlooking ? Before you ask new plugs, new gas,new fuel filter. This thing has about one more time messing with me and and i'm putting a match to it.probably not but I look serious.

did you check the coilpacks and wires? i mean if you put a new plug and its still filling up...sounds like something isn't going "boom" like it should

sounds like these guys are on the right track. your fuel system doesnt sound like the culprit this time. what I'd do, leave the fuel system alone, let it sit overnight, start it and see if it does the same thing again. THEN check your spark on the bike and see what it does.

miles on the bike would sure help. could be compression.

34,000 miles on the bike but it still acts like one of the carbs is flooding the cylinder. When try to crank it acts like it's flooded but eventually it cranks and skips until I rev it up and it clears up only to skip until it shuts off

will try it in the morning if it runs good then i'll know it's the coil.If it still skips off come the carbs and plugs again. The circle of life for me.If it doesn't act up then coils are heating up and dying on that cylinder when it's warm.If still skips call insurance company and try to explained accidental fire.YEAH.

check to see if the choke is off at the carbs, when it is off at the handle bars. My 86 had this problem

choke is off that's the first thing I thought.Starting to lean toward the coils.Has those symptoms of bad coils.Because it can't be fuel the carbs have been off more than they have been on.I can pull, clean, and install in 15 minutes, before I take the seat off. It's like nascar pit swap of carbs.

I know that feeling, I could do the same on an EX500, or my buddy's 250 blindfolded by now.
