stock fairings seem to be hard to come by, they are either very expensive, or very beat up requiring lots of work.
the newer fairings are easier to come by, however require extensive modifications to fit.
This company offers aftermarket replacement parts at a fraction of the cost, which, also require modifications to fit.

Not sure which I'd recommend as it is more of a personal/budget choice. I havent seen a step by step guide for the conversion either, I am in the process of converting my f2 to 03-04 600rr body work, and so far, there isn't alot of modification involved. The progress will be in my thread, I went this route because I found a good deal on an almost complete set of fairings on craigslist and was able to sell what I didn't need to make my swap almost free. Also I know campos is in the process of an 04 1000rr swap and seems to be having little mods too.... whichever you choose, search alot and parts can be found cheap.
