If your front is a 110/80-17 that's the right size. Remember though, that the second number is not the actual height of the sidewall, just a proportion of the width.
110/80-17 vs 120/80-17 the sidewall on the second tire will be (barely) bigger.
Anyway, a bigger sidewall would make your speedo read too slow, not too fast.
It's probably fine. Many manufactures build in a little "extra" on their speedo readings. If a manufacturer made a speedo that, say, read too slow and someone got a speeding ticket they could conceivably look for recourse with the manufacturer of the vehicle for the speeding ticket.
If they build the speedos a tiny bit too FAST, they don't have this problem.
