I have an 87 600F, the last time I looked I was at 5500rpm at about 55mph, and 12000rpm at 135mph.

dont adjust it at the lever.

on the right side case theres a nut on both sides of your clutch cable on the bracket. Loosen them both off. until theres a bit of play in the clutch arm sticking out of the case.

then just using your hand, gently apply pressure on the arm forward until it doesnt move any further, then tighten the front nut on your clutch cable (making sure that you just make it barely snug because if you keep tightening it, it will pull the clutch arm forward and you DONT WANT that.) Then while holding the front nut in place with a wrench (or pliers if you only have one wrench) tighten the rear nut until its snug. After that adjust your lever so that theres a little bit of play in it. and youre done.

I had that problem when I replaced my clutch, it was still adjusted for the worn plates causing the cable to be too tight, causing the clutch to beslightly disengaged. so when i cracked the throttle it slipped. loosend the cable, and she was fine.

If this doesnt work, go order youself some discs, plates, springs, and a center retaining nut.

With stock gearing I ran 6000rpm @ 75mph. -1 front 6500rpm @75mph. -1 front +2 rear 7000rpm @ 75mph. I've had mine up to 140 mph indicated. Don't know what the actual speed was. Have never checked the rpms @ 85mph.
My bike must have gearing similar to yours. I noted today that my bike is at 6000RPM @65mph, but I have never checked to see what the gears are.

I have a 1990 , at 60 mph im about 5500 in 6th gear, about 75 mph, im in the 6 -7 range.. it all depends on the wind etc lol i dunno.. im avg about 45 mpg
I've had mine up to 180 km/h.. from 160-180 the acceleration is pretty good, but at 180 that seems to be where it kinda slows off and starts climbing pretty slow, you still ahve the rev range to go alot higher, but i ran out of road
