Replacing Turn Signal Switch
Hey guys,
I've got an old 1989 CBR600 F1, and it's a great bike. However, it still has the original left handlebar assembly, including the turn signal switch, high beams, horn, and choke. The switch for my signals is getting more and more finnicky...
It'll stick, refuse to turn the lights on or off, etc. I find myself fiddling with it for a good 100 yards after every turn... Not ideal!
I'm trying to fix it, but wanted to know if there was a good alternative. I'm fairly handy, if it's just a matter of tracking down the right switch, or somehow cleaning it.
Or, if that's just going to be a pain, do any of the later models of CBR600's offer plug and play functionality? I'd love to pick up a newer one, and just plug it in.
Any help is appreciated!

I`d reckon you will be able to take the switch apart, clean the contacts, lube everything (lightly) and put it back together. I would not replace it unless it proves to be worn beyond service, which I doubt. Normally just a proper clean and some lubricant will do the trick. Juts be careful when disassembling the mechanism as there are a few very tiny springs that are more than willing to jump out and disappear without a trace if let loose.
you should be able to clean your switch its not too hard to,heres what you will be facing pic 1 remove small screw,2 remove plate,3 remove midle screw,4 remove outer 2 scews,5remove 2 small plates,6 you should be able to remove switch,7gently press the 2 black tabs to release switch halves 8 clean the metal contacts being carefull not to lose the 2 small ball bearings, assembly is reverse of what u done
