Bad turn signal switch ?
Got a problem going on with my turn signals and was wondering if the switch is bad or if this might be a relay problem. I went thru search first and all I could find was the usual "help, my turn signals are wired wrong".
Ok, here goes........
From off to right... doesn't blink, stays on.
From off to left... works fine.
From left to right, skipping off, then right blinks normally. If I go from off to left, to off, then to right in a sort of rapid fashion, then right blinks.
Any delay tho from off to right and right stays lit.
btw...Rear does same as front
I'm thinking the switch contacts are messing up, but looking for a confirmation.
If I do tear into the switch and clean everything up, should I add some dialectic grease or not? Any suggestions for cleaning?
Don't think it matters but it's got flushmounts and integrated tail.
Thanks in advance.

It really sounds like the switch. But I'm not familiar with how relays work so I don't know what happens when they malfunction. Although my turn signal relay has a hole in the plastic cover and it works fine, so I still say switch.
When I cleaned my Front brake switch I took it apart, sanded the contacts, and put it back together. It works fine now.

From your symptoms I'd say you have a faulty indicator relay because you say the right indicators stay on but don't blink. This suggests the switch is getting power to the relay and the indicators, but the relay isn't doing what it is supposed to do, which is to make the indicators flash. I'd try another relay and hope it works. If it was the switch you wouldn't get power through the relay when turning it to the right and to the indicators. Hope this isn't too confusing? LOL!
