Rear Wheel Dampers

I replaced all my wheel bearings last night and noticed that where the sprocket fits into the rear wheel has a little play, front to back.

Are my damper rubbers compressed from age or is this normal? Help me out!

Found out that they are not supposed to have play, should be a snug fit. Ordered (4) of them from the Honda Shop @ $11 each.
