Default Question about riding cane in the rain?

This may sound stupid, but I just got my inner fairings and was wondering if that is all that keeps rain from entering the intake? It just seems like water could get in fairly easy. I just dont want to kill my bike if there is a chance of rain when I ride. Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure what you mean by "inner fairings", but my Hurricane is box stock and I rode it through pretty much its namesake last Wednesday...pouring rain and hail, high winds, etc. (Rollin' thunder and pourin' rain, I'm comin' on like a hurricane... Sorry, had an AC/DC moment) with no problems at all other than me being soaked.

Any one elese have a problem riding in high winds, with their cane? For the name mine sure gets blown around allot compared to newer bikes.

But as for getting water in there your pretty safe, you would have to drive through a river to get any water in the engine. The tiny bit that might make it though gets stoped by the aircleaner. And if any gets past that get's evaporated by the combustion of the gasoline. Gas has a little bit of water in it allready

I ride in the rain at least once a week it seems like and i've never had a problem, well except I have to oil my chain a lot....also does great in the wind, as good as my 81 gs850, and 1000000000000000000000000000000x's better than the 87 vfr500f I had...
