Ha, I was working with a Welsh dude when my company got us to do the course. So, you got the Welsh part right.

Lightbulb Pictures of plastic (ABS) welding

If anyone still wants to see pictures of this process (the cheap, non-certified way)...

I use ABS plumbing pipe as filler when I need some, and the hot knife attachment on the soldering iron works great. Use a dremel or something to take the paint off the affected area before you start, and be cautious about pushing hot ABS through to the other side of the fairing if it's somewhere visible or where it will affect a mounting tab or something. You can always shape the backside later with the dremel though...

That came out nice!!! I have a bunch of mounting tabs broken on fairing and one on my gauge cluster... Is plastic welding an option?

Default Plastic welding tabs

Here are some pictures of a tab I made. The easiest way is to weld on a slab of ABS, then shape with the dremel. This one was one of the more difficult ones because of the extra flats for the twist-lock, and I had to shape it until the thicknesses were just right...

Default Couple More

A couple more shots of the upper fairing after bedliner, clearcoat and some smashed bugs...
