Default oops...gonna need new front end

I ****ed up...borderline destroyed a mint 88 with only 30k miles on it. the front forks are done for, and am probably gonna need at least new forks and a new rim.

so my question is, what exactly is interchangeable? would i be able to pull some forks off one of a different year?

Thanks!

I've got forks, triples, and a rim. Let me know what you need.

Everything is on my parts bike, been sitting for years. Wheel is near perfect, I'll have to check the triples and I'm sure the forks need fluid and seals. Make me an offer, and I can get pics if you are interested.

i found a couple nice parts bikes up here (im near seattle) for around 500. if the forks are gonna need work im thinkin somewhere in the ballpark of 150 to 200 bucks. my only concern is shipping, i have a feeling its gonna be an assload of money.

how much you think those things weigh?

I'll be honest with you, for $500 for a parts bike vs. shipping across the country I'd go with the parts bike.
