Question Noobie carb cleaning vid: your tips/advise pls

hey guys

Thought I'd do a vid just talking through how I've been cleaning the carbs. I ask a few dumb questions on it and would love to hear your tips/ advice.

Also, let me know what you think of me requesting advice this way on here. Is it ok? If you think it's a good idea then I'll carry on with it. Believe me I need you guys' help pretty bad.

Thanks alot

- Typically cylinder numbers are left to right. So the leftmost cylinder from the perspective of standing behind the bike would be #1
- Floats should be equally springy.
- Ok, so from the 3:19 mark of your vid. From the perspective of how you have them sitting on the bench, the main jet is the big on at the 'top'. Below and to the right of it is the idle jet, and below that is the starter jet.
- You should be fine not polishing the cap. Remove what you can with a metal brush, clean it well. The gasket will do a sufficient job sealing the vacuum chamber.

Hi Corruptfile

I cleaned up the diaphragm covers as you advised and they're great now so thanks for that.

I'll try to clean the valve seat needle springs some more on carbs 1 and 4 with gas if possible. Whatever state they end up in they're gonna go back in.

Cheers

I'd recommend boiling your jets and emulsion tube in 50% water 50% lemon juice (the realemon stuff I use) for about 10-15 minutes. Citric acid break down the gunk very well and leaves them smelling good too
