Hey guys I have a 87 600 cane that I'm trying to get ready for riding season when I bought it it didn't have a speedo on it at all so I'm looking to buy a universal aftermarket one off E bay and what I was wandering is would there be any possible way to hook it up when I get it to where the fuel gauge on the speedo will read the fuel level and will work properly due to the fact that I would really really like the fuel gauge to work? Thanks

 

The clusters you buy on ebay are not plug and play. You will likely need to wire the tach to the CDI and the speedo might need a sensor installed. There is no fuel gauge on the f1, so you won't be able to use that function

 

There is no level sensor in the tank, so it's not possible unless you can modify it somehow. I can't really help in that area..

For the speedo unit you might like the Trailtech Vapor if you haven't checked it out yet. Has some nice features including a few the stock bike doesn't have.
