Need some help with putting back together
Hi i am needing some help... I bought this 90 hurricane f1 and it was in pieces and i am in the process of putting it back together and am in need of some help. i have bought the clymer manual but does not help with these few things.
First the fuel pump i am not sure where this bottom hose goes to
2nd the starter relay
does this green cable go here? or on the frame? and where does this black cable from the back of the starter go?
and last do these hoses go any where else?
these maybe stupid easy questions but i am just a newbie who got a good deal on a bike that was taken a part and sold.
Any help would be great... THANKS IN ADVANCE!

the lines on the fuel pump is a vent incase it starts leaking internaly. you dont really need to do anything with it, or extend the line below the bike so it dumps on the ground.
the green wire needs to bolt somewhere to the frame. its a ground wire. the black wire is the battery ground wire.
all the carb lines are vents also, nothing needs to be done to it.

Do you know where i could download the manual?
I got it all back together and went to start it up and fuel is leaking out of the carbs on the T lines and oil is pouring out of the lower head gasket. so looks like this somewhat simple project is going to be a royal pain in the *** project.
Not quite sure if i am ready to take this on. a engine swap seems like it maybe easier. Any incites of this? Anyone know of anyone selling an engine that is in good condition?

You are missing the air-cleaner base. It’s an aluminum plate that mounts to the back of the carbs and holds them together as one unit. You probably won’t have much luck keeping the “t” fittings from leaking or springs in place without it. It’s part number 35 in this link http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....e=13&A=67&B=21 .
The two hoses that are sticking out in the picture should point down. I believe they are overflows for the carburetors. If gas is coming out of them, you either have the float level set to high and/or have bad needles and seats.
The rectangular box in the middle of the carbs is a filter that I believe allows air to flow to and from the diaphragms which control the slide valves. It mounts to the air-cleaner base with a screw.
I really think you need that air-cleaner base before you are going to get much further towards being rideable, but others on the site may have better/more info on that.
Someone here did an awesome set of pictures on carb stack disassembly/assembly that really helped me. I don’t have the link handy though.
I hope this helps, and best of luck.
