Default Putting back together a 954

Hey guys about a month ago I bought a 03' 954 that has only 812 miles on it. It was wrecked but no frame damage. I have put new fairings on it, new nose, mirrors, new upper and lower stay, new headlight assembly, windscreen, hot bodies undertail and polished frame sliders. I have $ 5800 in the bike now including the purchase. Do yall think I should hang on to it or will I beable to get my money back that I have put in it? Also I have not replaced the stator cover but I have one for it. Is there anything tricky about replacing it other than pulling it off and putting the new one on?

I doubt you will make money on it, ave price used is prolly 5-6k. Its a great bike, lot of power, and lighter than any other liter bike made, keep it and enjoy it. The stator cover is just that easy, will want new gasket also, but just take off and put on.

If the cover is just scratched then don't replace it. Just polish it. That is what I did with mine after I bought it. Saves cash and looks awesome.

Yea im just torn on what to keep. I have a 07 CBR 1000 and the wife says cant keep them both. I love how that 954 takes a corner though. I have the gasket for the stator cover do you need to use any sealor around the gasket or locktite on the bolts? Diablo when you polished what did you use polish it to make the finish come out so good?

Honestly, I didn't wanta chrome finish to it because I wanted it to match the swingarm. I went for more of a clean stainless look. I used a 80 grade sand paper on a circular drill bit to start. I then went from that to a 100, then a 150,and then a 300 by hand. After that I went all the way up to a 800 grade (get atAutoZone). It ended up really with a nice smooth stainless finish. I was pleased.
