My Beautification Project
Wow! that looks jsut great! I might have to steal the idea
I was thinking about rocking out silver from a rattle can ( temp quick job) and now I am SURE it will look great! nice work! makes me want to get cracking on mine! Just went for my forst ride yesterday, the bike was given to me by my best friend. how much was just the paint work, if you dont mind sharing. and how long did it take?

Thanks for the compliment and congratulations on getting your bike. I am sure you will love it.
The windscreen support covers are on the inside on either side of the windscreen. Basically it is just plastic trim, but it makes things look nice and complete.
The paint job was $300, which I think was a reasonable price. I did pretty much all of the prep work myself in order to save a few dollars and let the body shop take it from there. All told my bike was down about 10 days.
As for the paint scheme, I found a pic online of a Hurricane that was all silver (which I knew I wanted mine to be) and printed it out a dozen times. Then I drew different designs on the prints until I made one that was both practical and nice. I handed the final sketch to the body shop and said, 'make it look like that', and they did.

I know that I saved at least $100 by doing as much as I could myself (based on the quotes the shop gave me). I took everything apart here, and then did as much of the prep work as I could (sanding and minor repair work). Once it was painted I did the reassembly and decals here too. Those hours of labor can really add up!
