I would be looking to make that as original as I could, they looked great when new.

+1 on that. To me, the Hurricanes STILL look great, even at 20 or so years old. I actually like em better than the newer bikes in terms of appearance because they're just nicer bikes to me.

Hehe. Please don't send me hate mail. I am very happy with my Hurricane. They are a fantastic bike for the money. However, for me, those origional plastics. [&:]Spoils the whole bike. The front mudgard looks like darth vader's helmet, and the rest is a jelly mold. There is not enough of that bike on show. If you like the origional look, I can understand that. I normally enjoy going backwards with a bike. Getting it back to standard. Although, with the one I have. The standard gear is all good. So it's modification for this one I have. Don't worry if you are a Hurricane purist. I have been doing bolt on mods only, so that the origional parts can go back on at anytime. The good thing is. Those plastics will not get worn out by use, now there stored away. Nice bike RetroDemon. I sure what ever you do with it you'll have fun. As for getting it free. People must love you.

This is true. I am leaning more on the side of doing a semi/quasi streetfighterish look. My girlfriend still wants to ride on it, so a single seat is out of the question. I still want to retain the use of the factory gauge cluster and I kinda dig the headlight. As of now it's all up in the air on the aesthetics. Most important right now is getting it safe and road worthy.
Edit: And the spark plugs are a B! to get out. Figured out it's an 18mm socket that I needed to grind to make the walls thinner. [:'(]

The looks aren't old either, this get people that ask me about my bike and I tell them its a 1990 and theyusually say it doesn't look like a old bike. The performance is still pretty good when comparing to anything but the newest bike, still handles great, still has plenty of power. I love mine
