What kind of fuel pump is that? Mine's been running oddly lately, and I'm thinking about replacing it. Looked at it the other day, and ir has a mitsubishi logo on it... Something tells me that's not stock.

Nice job! I wouldn't worry too much about looks, if it's in sound mechanical shape.
Sorry I missed some of your posts and didn't follow through better. Looks like you
ran with it though and emerged triumphant!

I've been distracted lately. Working on a "how-to" on basic checklist to restore a
used bike to 100% mechanical. You might like it, after I get it posted. ;-)

Grats on a good job, Ern

Had the exact same problem with my F3 this week. First I cleaned the contacts on the points in the pump but it stopped on me again. Then I ditched the pump and went gravity feed but when the fuel got low it acted like it was running out of fuel way earlier than normal. I ended up noticing that the small wire that connects to the top part of the points cage (if that's what you wanna call it?) was extemely loose so I squeezed up the rivet holding it on and the pump now works fine. before I did this I tested it with the plastic cover off and all it would do is close up and hold there resulting in the wire nearly melting from the resistance. If you do this, dont over do the riveting cause it can split the plastic grommet type thing that keeps that part of the circuit from contacting the wrong part of the points cage.
