Default good news

For the last few years the supply of stock sized tires has been drying up... The new 250 ninja uses the same size as my 87 Hurricane.

No, thats 2nd gen 250's not 3rd gen which use a 110/70/17 front and 130/70/17 rear with the complete makeover of the body. its good for us.

I can live with a 10 mm shorter sidewall... I didn't want to be left picking from some chinese **** tires so I could get close to the stock sizes. The NEW 250 Ninja has the closest I've seen in a long time. Maybe the tire manufacturers will compete to see who can put out the best replacement for it. That can only be good for those of us who still ride long obsolete equipment.

funny its only now that the new 250 is out that we start seeing these sizes, the GS500E and F, as well as the EX500 have been using these sizes for the longest time.

The only tires in the stock sizes I've been able to find are cheesy chinese brands. None in metzler, dunlop, bridgestone... I was worried what I was gonna do when I wear the battleaxes off.

far as I know the ninja doesnt use radials, its a 250 not capable of speeds warranting radial tires. Michelin makes a 110 radial front, and 150 rear, but thats THE smallest you're gonna find.

There is two radial tires that I know of that will fit the CBR 60O Hurricane, they are the Dunlop 205's front 110/80-17 and rear 140/80-17 also theAvon Azaro ST 45/46 in the same sizes. I amcurrently using the Avons and they really work well my only complaint is the front has about 1/2of tread at the edge I cannt use, rear wears all the way to the edge. I used the Dunlop 205's about 10 years ago and they worked well too and as I remember the front wore more evenly with the rear.
I recommened ether one Dunlop 205's or Avon Azaro 45/46's
