So… on the bad engine( which I was using all of the top) one of the can lobes had bad scarring and the grove it sat in was badly scared,

on the new one which that top rocker section everything in there was good , however I think the guy had stored the engine in its side because all of the water pump was fully rusted and all of the inside of the valves on that side full of orange Nutella, so what I done was stripped out all of the valves and completely degunged it and now tomorro I will put it back together and that’s the engine complete

also
i think I will swap the clutches because it’s being sitting for so long , while it’s apart I know the clutch was good so I’ll swap it then it’s ready for compression test etc

I thought you were just gonna swap heads from other engine straight across?

Now would be good time to replace valve-stem seals and measure valve's contact ring width... Very easy to just narrow seat-width to brand-new condition and have brand-new top-end (which wears out 1st).

Fair play to you matey, a lot of people would have thrown the towel in by now. I hope it all works out, don't forget the video of the bike running and riding.

Yh I become quite attached to it now lol I think if you gana do something then might as well do it properly it’s an old bike so it’s not like I can make thousands but I do want to get rid, I got it for free I’ve spent now 560€ including new engine , steering head bearings back lights about 12 lites of oil 🤬🤬🤬 and chain etc etc few more things so could sell how it sits I think for around 1100€ however I’m thinking to get a digital taco and headlight, have the front half naked , back I leave how it is to much messing around to get all the back proper but then maybe I could get 2 k , that’s the plan

i think with the front light and farrings it looks like it’s from 1987 so maybe naked it will appeal to more people, get rid then start something new 😃

These valve seats look way, way worn! Won't seal for long.

Measure contact-ring width on other head and use better of two. Or get upper & lower angles cut to put contact-ring at lower-end of range.
