fuel pump relay?
when i was checking things to see if they had power i noticed that the yellow wire to the relay connector had power and the black/blue one did not with the ignition switch on but notpressing the start button. should it be that way or do i get to go liioking for a wiring gremline. thanks
Try replacing your battery. I had a similar problem and have been down this road before... your fuel relay is not getting enough voltage to operate correctly. I have owned my 1987 hurricane since new. They eat batteries... Two years max.
how deep do you want to go into the circuit? here goes... from battery to main fuse, main fuse red to ignition, red withblack to 10amp fuse, black from fuse to fuel cutout relay, light blue to fuel pump ,green to ground. In order for that circuit to be made ignition must be on. Don't forget the 89 has a sidestand safety switch that will kill the bike if the bike is in gear with the stand down.
i got that so if the battery doesnt enough power the pump will just stop pumping right i think that is my problem it pumps like twice when hooked up and then stops thanks again for the help.
