hey cds, what exhaust system are you looking at? I just bought a d&d exhaust that was for the f2/f3 and it pretty much mounted right into position and looks and sounds like a beast! Hardest part was that the mid-pipe wouldnt slip all the way down, but its on enough to stay put and not wobble around, that and the exhaust hanger on the exhaust its-self slides around so I could move it to get it into the right spot and then i just locked it down. I did this in under 10 minutes and I rock my bike like its the newest and coolest thing on the block lol. I ride with a guy who has a 09 R1 and he has a slip on Twin Brothers and it sounds like an old school muscle car. Ill try and see if i can shoot a clip just for kicks of it because no lie, it sounds amazing.

not too sure, if the midpipe is setup for the f2/f3 and its like mine then it shouldnt be to difficult. It should, for the most part, just slip right onto your stock end pipe from your header. Alteast thats what mine did, and if worse comes to worse you could always find a midpipe that fits better and shorten/ just use that one.

I just threw a Bolt-on Jardine exhaust off a 2000 gsxr onto my 88 Cbr f1. I made a bolt on exhaust flange from 1/4 hard steel, then took it to a muffler shop to have them weld a mid-pipe to it. $30 for the pipe, $60 for the welding work and pipe material. No jetting was needed after.
Point being, you can make a lot of things work.
My recommendation, buy another slip on exhaust in what you want, and go to any muffler shop and they'll help you with the rest. It'll keep your costs down that way.
