Default electrical problem...

I just got my 89 600 running today and after about 2 minutes of running it shuts off, including the neutral light on the dash. I turn the ignition a couple times and the neutral light came back on and the bike was able to start but only for a couple seconds. Then after turning the ignition key it did it once again but after the bike died again none of the electrical is working. I wasnt sure if my battery had just died so I attached jumper cables up and no lights on. So it isnt my battery or the main fuse (30 amp) i dont know what else it could be.

Hopefully someone knows how to fix this.

Thanks for any help!

check all your connectors up at your main fuse panel near the instruments.
it would help to get a volt/multimeter and start checking where you have power and where you dont. it sounds like you have a bad or corroded connection somewhere.
unplug and replug all the connections a couple times to make sure you're getting good contact, and make sure they are clean.
