Default Crank no start

Im trying to diagnose a problem with my bike. here is what I know. The problem is an electric problem regarding the fuel pump when I jump the 3 prong fuel pump relay the fuel pump kicks on. I replaced the relay caus upon inspection with a multi meter I noticed there was no resistance between any combination of prongs on the relay. Im not shure if this is normal as im not used to seeing a 3 prong relay only 4 or more. I also do not trust my multi meter as it is very old but it does zero in correctly. 70 dollars later this did not get my bike running so I'm assuming its a problem with the yellow wire to the relay that activates the connection with the other two wires. I'm stuck now any advice would be great the electrical diagram got confusing following this wire so any advise on how to check it would be great.

What year is your bike?
The engine kill switch is in "run" position?
Will the bike run with the pump by-passed(has to be more than half full, carbs are higher than bottom of fuel tank)?
Fuses?

89 600 is in the run position and starts with carb cleaner sprayed on carbs thats how i diagnosed fuel then i found that pump would not activate unless i jump the connector for the relay.

If you measure the bl/bu(hot lead to fuel pump) wire do you get 12 volts to ground?
The bu wire goes back to fuse g in the fuse box. Is this fuse good?
The y/bu leads to the cdi, tach, and pulse generator.
The g lead at the pump should be grounded...Check the green wire for continuity to ground.

My manual says Black is hot from fuse 'G' , Thrasher... typo? Not trying to split hairs.
I agree with what you say and keep in mind Dietrich that the fuel pump is not meant to run continuously, but only when there is need for more fuel. There are many reasons why it might not start with fuel being one of them. Mine will crank over on a low battery condition but not start. Record your battery voltage next time before you do anything. Any other info you can give will help... i.e. did you check fuel flow out of the tank, ( there is a tiny filter in the tank).
Check the main fuel filter. Is there any rust in the tank... you know, all the things that could impede fuel flow. Have you ever checked the carbs for cleanliness? Big issue on these bikes and the cause of many a post.

You should have 12v to ground on the black with the ignition on-measured on the volts dc scale. If you do not have 12v there then the pump can not run. There is a fuse in the circuit before the relay in the fuse box under the upper left fairing cover. Pull the fuses out to check them. Don't trust your eyes- put the meter on the ohms scale and measure continuity. The needle should do the same thing across the fuse as if you touch the leads together. If you jump black to bl/bu then the pump should run as that is the set of contacts in the relay. The cdi tells the relay what to do through the yellow wire. Don't short the yellow wire as you may damage the cdi.
