Default Clutch help!

Hi all. I'm trying to reinstall my clutch after installing a shift kit., I'm stuck tho. I'm at the stage where I am installing the clutch outer. I cannot for the life of me get the outer to line up with the oil pump drive bosses. I push in on the outer while turning the oil pump sprocket, but it doesn't catch. I've tried using the butt if a hammer to knock it in too. Am I missing something?

Mine just slid right back together when I had it apart. If you take off the drive sprocket & clutch outer does it fit together fine off the bike? If I remember correctly when I did mine all I had to do was rotate the driven sprocket while pressing in the clutch outer and it popped right in. Maybe something is hanging up between the drive sprocket & clutch outer?

Ok I might have found the problem. The 2 sets if teeth on the outer are out of alignment and won't side onto tho main gear. How do your align them?

I can squeeze then together with channel locks, but they keep spreading again.

The oil pump drive is #1 in the schematic here 1987 Honda CBR600F Parts, 1987 Honda CBR600F OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com when I put mine back in it took me several tries to keep it lined up I had to take #4 out and put it in from the front after I had everything in and lined up. If its not lined up with the pegs the clutch basket won't set all the way.
I hope the link works right if it doesnt its bike bandit under transmission then clutch
