The center stand was an option. Only one of my three hurricanes has one. Are you screwing the dipstick in when you are checking the level? You are supposed to set it in without screwing it in for the level check.

the manual also states to run the bike for a few minutes, then let it sit for a few minutes. if you let it sit for a while and check it, oil from the cooler may drain back into the sump.
