Default CBR600 F1 startup/crank troubleshooting

Hey guys, I just bought a 1988 Honda CBR 600F and went to start it up with a battery from my 250 scooter. it didnt have the cranking power so i hooked up a car starter to it (which puts out 900 amps) and it cranked until that car starter died (it needed a charge anyway). the battery that i had was crap, it cant hold any charge. But when I hooked up my other car started (which is a direct feed from the wall) i trickled it for 5 min at 2 amps then put it up to 12 amps. turned the key and his start. nothing. not even a crank. I know putting 900 amps through the thing wasnt smart.. but it was cranking just fine 5 minutes earlier. I already know the carbs need readjustment before crank time can be decreased but why would it suddenly not even crank AT ALL!! i plugged the 900 amper back in and same story.. not even a crank. there wasnt even any bad nooises before it started. All the electrics work from the headlight to the turnsignals to the meter lights.. but i go to hit the start button and nothing happens.. I hope i didnt fry my starter.. (AND YES.. THE BIKE IS IN THE "RUN" POSITION) I am going to buy a new battery today but is there any electrical issues that could be causing this as well?

Oh yeah, I couldnt find a technical/trouble shooting section here so I just posted under new member. if you could direct me to the proper posting place too thatd be great. THANKS ALL!

did you check all the fuses???

and it might just be the battery...

if not i would check the starter.

advise as a car mech. know nothing about the bikes yet. but thats what i would do first.

I considered that I cooked the solenoid but didnt think so since I didnt hear or smell anything bad. What do you mean by switch too? The starter switch? How could that happen? Still havnt checked fuses but I doubt its that since all other electrics work!

Turned it on and the oil light is on.. Could this be a problem? Also does this thing have a fuse box?

You let it turn over until your booster drained? You probably cooked the armature in the starter or the brushes.

Starter motor is good. Believe I cooked the solenoid. I checked all fuses and checked the starter. Used a multimeter to test voltage. Everything points to the solenoid, though all electrics still work. Sound right to you guys?
