Default Bogging at low rev

Hey guys I'm trying to figure out what is going on with my bike. Basically what is happening is that when I get on my 88 hurricane to go for a burn. If I race up through the gears. Shifting around 10k. The bike seems to run fairly well. But ones I reach a cruising gear and run around 5-6.5k the bike can't puck up anymore and it just Boggs out and it's all I can do to keep it at 100 or what ever speed Im cruising at.
If I want to go faster I have to down to 4 or even :rd gear.
Anyone have an idea what could be up?. Maybe not jetted right?

Thanks guys

Sounds like you might have one or more dirty carbs more than a jetting issue. Does it start and idle normally or do you have to play with the choke to keep it running?

I would suggest removing the carbs and cleaning everything. Remove the jets and blow compressed air through them & make sure they are clean. All it takes is a little bit of varnish from sitting and you can have issues. After reassembling everything make sure you sync the carbs properly. A service manual comes in very handy when doing work like this as well..

My basket case bike had one crushed exhaust header and ran like that. I replaced the header and now it runs like a dream.
