Default Bogging

I've been looking at some of the threads on here concerning bogging...i'd like to be put in the right direction before i start throwing money at the issue. After changing out my fouled plugs...bike picked up a lot of power...more responsive to cracking the throttle now but still bogs down a bit halfway through 1st and 2nd...3rd is just horrible...i almost feel as if i'm losing power more than gaining...when i start to let back on the throttle she picks back up for a second...i managed to get it to 85 but it seems to take forever...i have seafoam...haven't used it yet though. Someone help me out...i appreciate it

Check to see how dirty the air filter is. Almost sounds like you either are getting to much fuel, or not enough air. The not enough air partcosts less to check.

Good call Ctown Mike. Another thing you might want to try is setting the air/fuel mix screws. Check out the service manual (If you don't have one theres a sticky in the General Tech forum) for how to set them. If its running too rich because its getting too much fuel (and your air filter is fine) and it happens to be poor mix, then the air/fuel screw fix is free. Check out what your spark plugs look like after a few miles to make sure you aren't running it too lean. Beyond that, cleaning some jets or maybe syncing could get rid of the bogging problem.

Is she backfiring when you close the throttle? Thats generally a good way to diagnose a rich mixture condition.

yeah nasty fouled spark plugs means too rich.check ur fuel screws first if that checks out id invest in a jetkit. their pretty easy to install and gives you a good chance to clean sync ur carbs.
