I've had my 88 for about 2 weeks, ran great until today. The bike began to bog down, seemed to lack power. It finally stalled, was hard to restart and ran for another 15 mins, than quit again. Had to get it towed home as it wouldn't restart. It has a kerker pipe but to my knowledge no jet kit. Any suggestions to what would cause this? I'm thinking a carb tear down is necessary??

 

I had bogging and stalling and then hard/no start issues. it ended up being a R/R and a melted Stator harness. the fuel pump becomes current starved when you get on it because of the ignition system and it loses fuel and dies.

almost sure u have a Regulator/Harness problem.

 

I'll check the charging system first, thnks.

 

I checked for fuel deliverey and the fuel pump isn't pumping out gas. There's fuel to the pump. I'll check the wiring and relay tomorrow.

 

Im guessing it should probably be 12v, you have a bad battery, R/R or fuel pump relay.

 

Borrowed buddys fuel pump and it worked, so my fuel pump is shot. I won another one on fleabay that ended a few minutes ago. So in about I'll be back riding.
