Default About to take on an 88 Hurricane

Well, the sportbike bug has bit my girlfriend, so I'm trading her GS850GN that I built, for an 88 Hurricane 600F.

Myself, I have a 2006 CBR600RR that has bounced the rev in 6th at Thunderhill, been ridden from Casper WY to Abilene TX, and has a solid 40k miles on the clock.

From what I can tell, the bike runs a little lean, but has a Vance and Hines exhaust (Not sure if full or slip on) and looks like it's missing some of the ram air intake ducting leading into the frame/air box. Has been down and has a 15ft paint job, but everything looks straight and a lot of key components were replaced with factory/oem parts.

Outside of that, she's a beaut!

they are great bikes man, and a breeze to work on.

plenty of used parts available if anything breaks, and also new OEM parts also

Nice looking bike from the pic.. the ram air ducting isn't a big deal & shouldn't have much effect on the running or air/fuel ratio as long as the air box is intact. May need a richer jet kit if there is an upgraded air filter or other mods done to the engine though.

Factory pro makes a few nice upgrades for the bike.. I scored a Yoshimura jet kit on Ebay a couple years ago for super cheap also so that's another good option.

Got the bike home, and got the girlfriend to tear into it with me.

-The plastics are hobbled together so I know it was laid down a time or 3.

-The clutch is totally shot, but I already scored a clutch kit for $40

- Petcock lever is busted off, but petcock works fine with no leaks.

- Has a full V&H SS2R exhaust and K&N filter.

-Brand new BT45 Bridgestone tires

All told, a really great bike for her to move up to, enough power to actually have fun, but still not as wily as my RR. Just need to get her to stop riding it long enough to pull the carbs apart and check the jetting!

(And don't worry, the first "mod" we did was pulling the cheesy stickers off)
