90 model cbr clutch problems?

Default 90 model cbr clutch problems?
If anyone could be of some help, I thank you.
I've got a 90 model cbr i'm working on. It's now running, but i've ran into a problem. While I have it running I pull the clutch lever in, try and drop it into that first gear and it dies imediately. Note I still have the clutch lever pulled to.

1st things 1st you have the kick stand up right? if you id check the stand safety switch.

Yeah, after doing some research, it's looking to be stuck clutch plates. How to free them up is another problem i've run into.

more likely is your clutch is improperly adjusted at the engine case
