Default 87 Hurricane Oil Capacity?

How much oil and what kind do I use? I'm in southern California, I go back and forth between San Diego and LA frequently, so it doesnt get too cold. I've been told 10W-40 would work, just looking for other opinions. Bought a fixer-upper, and I'm finally getting to the point where I need to find oil for it.

Without Filter = 3.0 Ltrs (3.2 US Qts, or 5.3 Imp Pt)
With Filter = 3.4 Ltrs (3.6 US Qts, or 6.0 Imp Pt)
With Rebuild = 4.0 Ltrs (4.2 US Qts, or 7.0 Imp Pt)

just to add incase someone else ever searches this topic from CAN or UK.

And 10W40 is the recommended viscosity for these bikes, alot of people use Amsoil Synthetic, I just use Honda's Motorcycle Oil.

Check out this link. It has all the specs you'll need. I've found it helpful.

Autozone sells the oil Valvoline at the motorcycle oil section. I use 20w-50 for my 89 cbr, its burning oil at the #2 cylinder needs guides and valve seals. Runs good still, i just add oil when needed..
