So hold on a moment, 1 quart is 1/252nd of a hogs head isn't it?

^ "1 quart is 1/252nd of a hogs head"

NO! 1/250 = one quarter.

Not 1/252 (you need to drop the .002)

.002 hog heads = 1 mil hogs head

It's just enough to through everything off.

I've just discovered one of those amazing random facts.

1 mph = 0.977777778 cubits per second

See, the whole imperial system is based on sensible basics with an easy ability to quickly flip between different units.

Also, apparently a British hogshead holds more liters than an American one does.

There is clearly no rational explanation for that, other than the fact that a US gallon is smaller than everyone else's gallon as well.

Maybe their inch is smaller than everyone else's too? That would explain a lot of things.
