Ok so I found what looks like a good used cylinder set and bought it, I also ordered a new head and base gasket. Hopefully the next update I make is that it running like a champ again cause if anything else expensive happens I don't know if I will be able to fix it.

Wow update to an old thread but life happened and my bikes had to sit for a while. I was able to clean my carbs and make an overflow for my hurricane. This will probably be a temporary setup until I can clean it up.

Once it stops raining every day I'll be able to get it out and ride again

Why do you need an overflow?

With the tail and swingarm swaps I couldn't use the stock coolant reservoir so I figured I'd use an aluminum water bottle. I'll probably look for a smaller bottle or a different bikes reservoir to clean up the looks. I definitely need to clean up the wiring though.

Hi Ben,

I forgot all the mods you made to your bike. Looking back at the pictures there should be a way to get an overflow bottle inside the frame...likely a smaller one like you said.

I completely reworked the wiring harness on the RR bike to clean it up. You can re-wrap them pretty easy. The routing is important to get a clean look and still connect everything properly.

Yeah I've done quite a bit. The big bottle is temporary to be able to ride this season. I'm thinking I'll be able to fit something smaller close to where the stock overflow was. Re doing the harness is on my list as well but it's been 2 years since I could ride so since it's up and running for now I'll ride as is and do work this winter.

was the centre line of swingarm accurate after only trimming the one side to fit in frame?

Not sure if Ben is still active. If he is he will probably explain this better, but the cut on the one side of the swing arm was done to get the sprockets to line up.

You also have to do custom dog bone mounts for the shock to get it to work. He explains this early in the thread and shows pictures.

This is his quote on the swing arm.

Yes everything lined up very well by cutting the side that the brakes are on.
