Default 1989 CBR600 - New Project Bike

I foound a new project bike buried in the snow in Minnesota. Made me so sad to see it outside in the snow I had to buy it and take it home and thaw it out. Tell me what you think. Am I crazy?

Its a sad sod. Like my 2nd bike thats just sitting. Does it run? Maybe its worth keeping for parts for your "huRRicane"

It runs...look at the plate...licensed into 2013. The guy was driving it last year. He did a bunch of mechanical work on it... new clutch plates, carbs. Brakes went out so he parked it and started to fix but gave up. No fairings tho. Perfect candidate for a huRRicane conversion :-) $300 US. Couldn't pass it up. Clean title is worth $200. The Hurricane parts that are on it worth a few too. Has the entire tail, seat and headlight.

I got the new project bike home today. Don't know what I'm going to do with it. Here's a better picture of it.

That was my situation when I got the 2nd bike. I was so excited to get it home, then get it running well. Then I was like "now what?". It has sat ever since...

I put a battery in the snow bird today and got it running. Choke cable is broken so had to manually choke it, but the thing runs pretty good...so the third bike looks like it can happen. I fixed the front fairing for it and it is ready for paint. Still need lowers for this one but have a line on some locally. I also cleaned up the black and red tank cause I think that will be the color scheme on this one...it's actually a 1988, the guy told me 89 but he was wrong, so black and red is cool...probably the original colors.

I will post some pics later of the black and red tank. It is perfect. Just some very minor nicks. No dents and still has the top instruction decals in perfect condition.

That's the plan. It runs good. Needs TLC and then it will be back on the road. Hope you get yours out there too.
