So it seems my jeep was jealous of all the money i was putting into the 'cane and decided it was time i spent some cash on her. Exhaust manifold, rear drums, rear shoes, rear axle seals, numerous other seals and a steering shaft for inspection ouch! All the offroading is coming back to bite me now.

My truck is exactly the same way. After i got my bike my rangers clutch slave started leaking and when i was buying a parts bike i went to leave and it wouldnt start, my brand new battery took a crap and had a dead cell. Puttin in a clutch and slave in the truck now i hope the cbr doesnt get jealous.

Well $2000 later my Jeep is once again road worthy, which as you can imagine has dried up the motorcycle funds once again lol. Lets hope i get bike parts for Christmas this year! And seeing how i'm spending all my money on her, i might as well show a picture of my money pit.(I say that in as loving a way as possible)

Hi Buddy, very interested in your build project. I happen to own a 1990FL. It is going through the process of a complete restoration. Shot blast, powder coat etc., even down to getting all the nuts and bolts re-plated. I stress that this is a sympathetic restoration because I am fitting a complete stainless exhaust system as I thought the Honda original did not look right for the bike.
99% of the new parts have been purchased and I am waiting for the forks to be returned from a professional engine builder on the Isle of Man. They are being set up for my weight to give optimum performance.
I have only just joined the forum and I will post photos in the near future.
Best of luck with your CBR, regards, GatorFirkin.

Finally got some time to work on the Cane again. Went to work on her today and got the front and rear tire properly installed and ready to go. Planned to get a little more done but as we finished up the front end, my Dad and I noticed that the whole front end was really loose. When we got it all apart we noticed that the steering stem was missing a washer causing the whole unit to be loose. Going to rectify that tomorrow!

Some pics from today

Got the front end squared away today and finished up installing the rear brake. Going to take a trip to the dealer tomorrow for a base gasket then the engine is going back together!!

Forgot about the basically new base gasket on my second engine so i didn't need to head to the dealer today!(gotta love having an extra of everything!)
Cleaned up the cylinder block and got it back onto the motor today, I was toying with reusing the fairly new head gasket off my parts bike and installing my head but decided why risk it for such a cheap part, heading to a local bike shop to order a new gasket and a front sprocket tomorrow.
I'm starting to think about what to do paint wise. Most of my plastics I have need to be repainted, and i'm missing both lower fairings so I have a few thoughts. I'm torn between the stock white and red, and the stock black and red. My paint code on my frame reads R-134 which i found out is "Fighting Red". But what paint scheme is that exactly? If anybody knows please share! lol

The two paint jobs i'm considering

*EDIT
After some searching i'm thinking this is what she might have looked like stock? If so i might consider the matching #s paint job
