Ha! That would be hard because I have too many toys. How would I move them all?

Right now I have 2 places. I have a house that I am getting ready to sell and that is where I am right now. My shop is at the place I will live after this house is sold which is about 60 miles away. This is one of the reasons I am only working on certain parts of the bike right now. The CBR's and most of the parts are at the other place.

You can do your bike...these bikes are fun to work on and are pretty forgiving. One of the great things about Honda's they are tough machines. I went through two of the engines and they are still in awesome shape. They all are in the 20K miles range, but honestly that isn't much for a Honda. The RR conversion is a bit of a challenge, but bringing yours back wouldn't be that hard. Just keep reading and working and it will make sense. Fix the stuff that needs fixing and go from there.

Although the F2 has (to my knowledge) another engine (MV9) than the F1, my bike has seen 108tkm and the only thing that gives it away is the worn transmission. Fires up like a Ronson lighter, first time, every time.

I was new to sport bikes when I got the first one a couple of years ago. I always had British twins or V twins...torquey thumpers.

The first bike hadn't run in a number of years and the PO told me he didn't know how to get it running. I checked it over, put new fluids in it and hung a funnel on the side and put some fuel in it. Took it a minute of cranking to fill the carbs and it fired up. Scared the crap out of me It ran pretty good but was spitting fuel out of 2 of the carbs. I tore them down and cleaned and rebuilt them. Did a bench sinc and it fired up and idled and throttled up nice...no smoke...just screaming revs once warm. They are pretty amazing engines IMO.

Nice work on the paint on the RR bike! I wouldn't have believed it was a rattle can job from just looking at the pictures. I missed quite a bit on this thread since I've been away, and there has been some good stuff posted in the last couple pages. The red/white CBR looks damn good too!

I wish I had your luck with scoring parts from Ebay Those are some excellent deals on the exhaust, switches, and the shocks!

You can get decent results on some parts with rattle cans. The main trick is to have good exhaust to keep dust off the parts and to put the paint on properly. The smaller spray pattern is the biggest issue with rattle cans and requires that you are more careful during application because there are more overlaps. As long as a 2K clear is used over the paint it will look very good. Larger parts like gas tanks just don't turn out well with rattle cans because of the small spray pattern.

I watch all the time and get alerts. Then move when the time is right. You can't think about it.

Hi all i have bin looking thru the post and i see all of you are doing amazing things with your bikes and respect for that. I have recently also got a hurricane only the previous owner made it to a fighter of some sort. It has solo tail from a 954 with no under tail so when i remove the solo cover i can see strait thru. I have bin pondering on it and i rely don’t like it sins the CDI and the wiring is exposed to the elements (water, dust, etc.). I have some mechanical knowledge sins i went for one year on a car mechanic school tho i have never in my life tried to fabricating bodywork. So my question is how the f...k do i make an under-tail to protect my CDI without f...king sh..t up... . I notes that dennisgb maid a nice under-tail and i was hoping for some help. And for those that are going to suggest to by an 954 under-tail i answer now that its not an option sins all the god ones are in the US and even if they are cheep the cost to send them to Norway is out of this word, at least the ones from ebay. Again nice work on the canes i was rely amazed.
Thanks in advance

Don`t mean to threadjack here but I took a quick peek in ebay, most undertails are home delivered to Finland for 30-40EUR, I`d expect the same to Norway, I don`t think that`s overly expensive... You COULD do your own but when you`ve sanded, painted and clear coated it and sum all together you`ll find out the ready one plus shipping would have cost less...

The first thing I would ask is whether you have a hugger (fender) on the back? The reason I ask is even with an undertail you will have trouble keeping water out without a hugger. Some on here do not agree with this but it is the reason I have a hugger on the conversion (I am changing it to something more in keeping with the RR tho).

The undertail I made was just a test fit and now I am considering making something a out of sheet aluminum to get a better fit and finish. The piece I made in this thread was made out of a $4.99 Wal Mart black wastebasket that is textured polypropelene. It would work fine and is flexible enough to match the curves pretty nicely. It also is impact resistant.

The suggestion Mattson made is another alternative, but I would bet that it may not be a direct fit to a modified Hurricane unless the 954 subframe was mounted to your Hurricane. I've only seen one Hurricane where a different subframe was mounted to a Hurricane and it didn't look very good...to do this properly requires significant frame mods. fabrication and welding.
