Colorado Norton Works does beautiful work but quite expensive. A restored bike costs $30K and you supply the donor bike. There is a lot of support and parts for Nortons and all Brit bikes, so quite fun to restore. They are IMO an iconic motorcycle and one that I wanted to do for some time. I found this one after years of looking for a complete restorable example.

Norton is back in business in England with the new 961 and they just imported the first new bikes to Canada and US this year. They are expensive due to small volume, and there is a long waiting list.

Here's a link to the "New" Norton Motorcycles:

Norton Motorcycles (UK) Ltd - Welcome

It's really cool to see Norton back and the new bikes are awesome.

I will post some pics as the bike comes together. I am bringing it inside the house to work on it over the winter.

I finally got back to working on the CBR600rr conversion.

I've been dealing with life changes and health problems so it got put on the back burner...but now I am able to do some things so working on paint scheme.

After thinking about my plan for painting the bike I decided that since this is such a unique bike it needs to stand out more than the all black paint I was thinking.

I started looking at choices available for the 600RR and ran across the MotoGP Playboy Replica Kits.

I like the way this looks...so...

They sell complete fairing kits but I already have all the fairings so I did a search and found a decal kit in the UK which I ordered.

I will paint all the black and white on the fairings.

Thanks for the positive comments. It's really been bothering me that the CBR has been sitting waiting for me, and I have so many new parts for it...way more money into it than I wanted to, but that is how it goes sometimes.

This bike should be something special though...that's why I moved to the Playboy look...it will take more time to paint it but I really like the scheme. I would pop for the new fairings but most of the kits are not quite right...and each of them is a little different. Since I have all the fairings, why not do it right?

I have a hurricane too, I'm waiting for the conclusion of this project because I don't know what to do on my CBR, conversion like you or buy new (used) original fairings.

Great project, keep going!!!

I feel bad this has taken so long, but circumstances were out of my control.

The choice to do a conversion or original is a difficult one. The number of parts required for a conversion and the work required probably makes it a wash compared to original if you can find all the original fairings. I have another Hurricane that will get original fairings, and almost all the fairings for a third one. For me initially the Conversion seemed like the only way to do the first bike and I really do like how it looks, so that is a factor also.

The conversion bike with have upgraded suspension, exhaust and a few other special parts to try and keep with the RR theme as much as possible. In the end it still will be a Hurricane made to look like an RR.

I hope to have some progress here over then next few weeks as I prepare the fairings and then hopefully start to assemble the bike. It may take me into spring, because the bike will be completely torn down to powder coat the frame and swing arm and a few other parts.

Your life and health first, the bike can wait and so us!! Get well first.

This is my first bike but is very old square look, I like bikes like R6, RR and CBR FSport with superbike looks!!!

When I google images to see original Hurricane I don't like colors and aspect until I fine this picture. With a good racing paintjob looks another bike.

I'm really confuse what to do, I prefer conversion but it takes a lot of work, some work I can't do alone.

If those are pictures of your bike it looks pretty good. I actually like the paint scheme. I see there is some primer on it, so see why you may want to improve or upgrade.

The original Hurricane fairing are valuable and if you must have the newer sport bike look you could sell them and likely pay for the upgrade parts...but for some of us that would be a shame. My Hurricane #1 had no fairings so that is why I chose the conversion option.

You might want to take a look at the 1990 Hurricanes as they had a little more "modern" paint scheme.

I'm partial to this one:

Minty ’90 Honda CBR600F (Or Hurricane !)

That pictures I found in Internet, is not my bike.

My bike I paint all chassis and wheels in Black Matte, I lost right fairing when push the engine to 230km/h (143miles/h), so I need take off left fairing too!!

This is my bike after paint, I have back fairing but is not on this picture

The link you give me I like this color too:
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-7WPAH78Y-D.jpg

The color white/silver is very cool.
http://raresportbikesforsale.com/wp-...PM-600x392.jpg

In my case the main color on legal documents is black, if I change to another main color I need chance documents, in Portugal to change the color only on documents costs 27€ (+/- 36USD)

ps: sorry in some mistakes in my english, I don't like use google translate. Because without help I can practice my english!!
