Gawd - this must be the most resurrected dead thread ever. 
At the end of the day, in the upper echelon of sports bikes, it's down to the rider and the settings on a specific bike. The horsepower is so close, it's really down to you.............
I've seen guys on 600's blow 1000's into the weeds, regularly.
Top speed means very little in the real world.............

Honda dosn't seem to care about speed or doing anything with bigger bikes. the new 600RR seems to be what they're pouring all their time into. And it paid off, the bike is badass. But they've all but forgotten about their 1000RR. The bike dissapointed me in everythig but the ergos. It feels like a 750 compaired to the K7 Gixxer 1000 or the ZX10. Honda needs to get it's ball rolling again and build some powerful repli-racers.
