what is a fair price
I found a '99 1100xx. The bike was laid over at least once from what i can tell. Big hole in the r side upper and missing mirrors on both sides. It started fine and sounds great. It has a yoshi slip on, other than that it is stock. They want 2500 for it. The mileage is 8700 or something close, i cant remember exactly. My question: is this a fair price for a bike in this shape? How do these bikes compare to the 600rr which is what i have now. Thanks guys.

420 , 2 cents worth if i may, i own a 96 cbr 1000f and my freind who does my tires owns a double x, after putting my new rubber on he said lets go for a ride, i know a long stretch of double lane road.needless to say he smoked me on every test we did. 6th gear roll on 2nd gear roll on (i had 1 bikes lead for a secound) and of course top end. i chickened out around 135mph he said his speedo read 165mph,he was a quarter mile ahead of me for sure. After he embarrassed me he then hopped of and said " try mine!!" Hell Yea!!! i said, needless to say , i'm looking this morning for a blackbird myself, unbelivable!!!! fast , fast , fast!!!!

no such thing as a fair price for these things, the ones that have a reasonable sounding price tag are JUNKED OUT and its almost impossible to source all the parts for a rebuild to nice shape.
the ones that are asking twicebook value are the only ones worth buying.
its a very rare bike in the US....
if you really want to buy one, ive got a pristine 99 sitting in the garage.....im talking people cant tell it ever left the showroom....but you WILL pay a pretty penny for it.....

Hey guys. I own a 93 1000F with 42000 miles and paid $2600 for it. It has been laid down on the right side and not in showroom condition, but well maintained. Itneeded a front tire too.I am amazed at the quality of these bikes! Best damn 2600 I ever spent!! If I could find a Blackbird for that price, I would be all over it.

RE: what is a fair price
Thats not a bad price but be warned that a new set of mirrors will cost one thousand dollars. I know this because I bought mine without the mirrors and had to order them. The only place you will find them is on ebay or from the dealer. I have a 2000 blackbird and it is an awesome machine. It has a K&N air filter and is pushing 154hp at the rear wheel. It has 205 on the speedo and I have seen past that point and had more to go. This is the reason that the busa was built. Can't go wrong when you get THE BIRD!! If you can,try to get a 2000 as they had the most power. You can also put a turbo on these bikes without having to touch the engine. This is the only bike to ever be built with high performance engine components just for this reason. It ought to say something by still being the #1 sportbike in the world and it hasn't been made in America since 2003. Best of luck!!
