Default Valve timing

Can someone throw some light on what I’ve done. Just done the valves gaps and now it won’t run just pops and farts. 1st question is does the number 1 piston need to at tdc. I have assumed it does. Do the cams need to be spot ( they are as best as I can see) . There is petrol and a spark . Any help ideas would be great.

If you're talking about putting the timing chain back on, yes to cylinder #1. Get a shop manual that will show exactly where things need to be when putting the timing chain back on as well as the cam gears.
