$2600 for an XX in Canada is a steal, especially at this time of year.

I'm lucky enough to own both bikes and they compliment each other so well. The 1000F is just raw in your face grunt where the bird has the grunt but is smoother and handles better. Being 14 years apart in technology though especially in the brake area is a big difference. I take both on big trips and enjoy both. I dont ride the 1000F as hard as I do the bird cause she is old and I look after her. Both can go all day and they just eat the miles up with ease. Id recommend to anyone to own both if they can. I'll never get rid of either !!! cheers.

I own both also. I've had my '88 since 1996. Ijust picked up a 2000 XX. I like them both.

The do both have different torque characteristics.

Brake rotors cost a lot more for the 1000F though.
