Hi,

I am in the process of getting new pads for a 2001 CBR1100xx and get the same answer that the pads are the same dimensions for front and back from some parts dealer. HONDA has a different part number for front and back. Has anyone changed pads and confirmed that they are the same size?

 

I have a full set of spare OEM pads for the front and rear calipers off of a 2003 model. They are the same on this model and prior models such as the 1998 that I currently own.

 

I believe that the aftermarket (ie EBC etc) are interchangeable but not the OEM pads, I did read somewhere that one would fit the other but not vice versa ( ie front fits back but not the other way ) but cannot confirm this, I believe they are the same dimensions but one lot have a notch and the other doesn't [:-]
