Hi I posted before brought a cbr1100xx write off.
Found out my Blackbird had been stolen.
The Damage these morons do to these bikes
Brought a honda lockset but having trouble
Closing gas cap and it locking.
See inside lip on tank pushed out should it
Be flat. I take some pics.

I do not have your model as I have a 600 f3, but I did have your same situation once. For me, even though it was supposed to be a correct fit for my model, it was slightly different. Once I purchased the correct part, it snapped up and down as designed.

 

Yes it's bent up because someone used a screwdriver to open the cap without a key - bend it down flat with some pliers and you should be good.

Oh no I had get new cap and ring piece mine
Had been smashed and crude strip of metal
Held what was left and bolted down.

 

Omg yes I purchased a second hand tank
Nice silver as I have to get mine repainted anyways
