Yeah, another 1000rr exhaust thread
I have a 2007 Repsol Edition 1000rr Fireblade.
I am looking for the "perfect" slipon exhaust. By perfect, I mean:
1) Relatively inexpensive
2) Will not require any hacking of bike material. I want something that will drop right in almost as well as the stock unit.
3) A pipe that will not require a PCIII and tune. A true "fit and ride" can.
4) Has to sound good, but I think they all do. But would prefer a "race" baffle.
5) Has to properly fill the void that the stock unit left. I hate the look of a round thin can with all the open space around it. The new can needs to almost look stock, you know?
Any idears? I found an Ixil can for $349 that I had on my F4i and it sounded wicked:

This Jardine can looks good for $419:

The Two Bros looks good too, at $412:

I also found a Yoshi RS5 for $292, but it does not fit in as well as the Ixil can does.

So who has opinions on these pipes, or would suggest some others?
Remember, almost stock fit, no hacking, and no remapping to get it to run properly.
Thanks!

I am putting the all carbon Jardine RT-1 Dual Outlet on my 07 Repsol.. I checked out an 06 1000rr that was at my delaer for service and it looked and sounded fantastic with the Jardine installed! I think that looks the best with that bike, but that is just my 2 cents.

I have the Jardine RT-1 with race baffle. I love that pipe. I see you do not want alot of space around the bike. Micron also makes a dual outlet too. I have seen and heard one. They sound nice. Not nearly nice as the Jardine.
What was involved in installing it? Got any pics? How did it run, and did you require a PCIII and map?
What about the stock blinkers and plate holder and all that?
Thanks!

I just put a two bros. on my 06 and it's cool but I thought I would let you know a few things about it. the exit of the pipe is slightly left of center, and it's quite loud at lower RPM 2500-4000. Above 4000 the pipe sound great. I do not have a pcIII and it runs great but I plan on buying one soon to get a bit more out of it.
Also I just remembered. If you ever wanted to go to a full system. With Jardine you can keep the slip on. Jardine makes headers that mount right up to the slip on. Not to many companies out there do that.

I installed mine in over a hour. I was taking my time. I did not cut the servo cables for the butterfly valve in the exhaust.I lifted the gas tank. Only problem I had was removing the clamp from the headers to the midpipe. Right behind the right footpeg. I ended up have to put some much torque on that bolt i sheered it off. Other than that everything fit nice.
Scorpion makes a good one too!!! Just depends on the type of finish you want too. Usually, slip ons will not require a remap (usually). The bikes can retune themsevles in a sense (up to a point). I would pick out a finish and sound you want then go from there.
Scorpion is the only one that I know that states that you do not need any remappign or any other equipment. Just slip it on and go.
I bought one and I am very happy with it. Nice deep tone. Louder than a Yosh, quieter than D&D. It's oval, not round. You can see the pipe in my pics.
