Default What a good price on a 2004?

I may have a opportunity to get my hands on a 2004 CBR1000RR with 8,300 miles. The asking price is $4800 and was told it’s pretty clean. Any info would be great before I go and look at it.

If it has clean title that's a decent price I would offer 4500 cash, and please check it top to bottom front to back.

8 & a half thousand miles? that bike is 15 years old, so you'll need to have a look at the exhaust end & put your pinky in it , & if there's dark soot? it's running rich, that means the bike has sat static for far too long, where the fuel system from pump to injectors are in need of time & money ( which means from the fuel pump assembly to the injectors has to come out & get's either cleaned or replaced) i, But if the finger has a light gray on it ? your lucky as it's running just rite, next check the breaks, make sure nothing is leaking around the master cylinders & calipers, & you'll need to check the break disk's thickness's because if they are under spec? for sure that bike has a lot more than 8 odd thousand miles on the clock. Really unless you've seen that bike about , like your friend owns it & you know for sure it's history? Offer them $3500 until you meet at no more than $4000, but any more & it better be the rite OD, have a power commander 3 or 5 dyno tuned & set , & have new tires all round, & in a un scratched excellent condition. good luck. c.Webb

Thanx for the info Webby, I haven’t gone to take a look at it yet. Waiting on a friend to get back to me about contacting the owner friend of a friend referral type thing.

Will post my findings or or more questions after taking a look at it.
