Default Velocity stacks

Sorry if this is a repost. But, I am curious about something. A buddy of mine has a 750 Gixxer. He said something about getting velocity stacks. He brought a Dennis Kirk catalog to work the other day. And, they had some for the 1000rr's for around $250. They claim to add power and give the bike a "deep throaty race bike sound". Does anyone have them istalled on there bikes? And, if so, what do you think about them?

I dont, but the reason i dont is i did a lot of looking into them, and from everything i have read they dont do a heck of a lot. Some of the best results i have seen is 2-3 hp on the top end with a dyno tune. To me thats just not worth that kind of cash.

Yeah, thats kinda what I figured. I haven't heard too many people raving about velocity stacks. I think, If im going to spend $200-$300 bucks on my bike to increase performance, It will probably be a Power Commander. I don't have one of them yet. I have a slip on. So, it couldn't hurt...
