Used 2007 purchase help.
Apologies if this is in the wrong section mods. My first post and I'm asking for help.
Without going into much details. I'm from the states originally. 10 years riding experience on and off, being in the military I couldn't ride every season and when I did it was mostly solo. I've since relocated to a 3rd world country and Hondas are quite expensive here! For example, the cheapest 1000 here is a 2004 with 16,xxx miles for $13,000. No authentic dealers where I live, all private.
I have always bought new since day one and have no experience what so ever in buying used bikes. I found a 2007 1000 with 4800 miles on it for $8k. It's been dropped both sides. The left side has fairing and tank damage, and the right side has just fairing damage.
I have ridden the bike and the frame and forks are straight. Engine is mechanically sound but I don't think it is worth $8k after being dropped on both sides. What would you say is a fair price? Even after being dropped on both sides I am still considering the bike given how expensive they are where I live.
If someone is really interested in helping and pics would help, I could email. All I have access to for Internet is a cell phone and I can't post pics.
Edit: Here are some pics

Are we talking USD?
It would be very hard for anyone to suggest what the bike is worth at your current location. But, an average price for a clean 04 1000RR could be had around here between $4000-$5000. An 07 such as the shape you are showing would probably go anywhere from $2500- $3500, depending on the extent of damage and condition of the title.
So percentage wise, that wrecked bike, (again, depending on damage) could be between 62-70 percent of the price of the 04 that has not been damaged here in the United States. The same bikes in your area taking $13000 and $8000, it comes out to about 62 percent. So based on a percentage, I think that's about what you should expect to pay.
As for the damage. there is probably about 1 grand worth of visible damage if you want to find oem plastics. If you don't care that they are oem, you can aftermarket much cheaper. But then again, Your location could mean the cost to get them will be much higher.
Just out of curiosity, how are the roads where you are? I wouldn't think a 3rd world country would have decent roads to ride a sport bike on.
